Daffodils - March's Birth Flower

Springtime is almost upon us (it's already arrived according to the meteorological calendar) and March has arrived. The daffodil is March's birth flower, the quintessential symbol of spring. In the context of birth flowers, it is thought to represent rebirth and domestic happiness as well as respect and friendship.

If you know someone celebrating a birthday this month, it's worth taking this into consideration when selecting a gift. If you're contemplating sending birthday flowers to that special someone, why not consider including daffodils in the arrangement. Or you can pay homage to the concept of birth flowers by sending a bouquet of yellow flowers, even if they're not specifically daffodils. You can then explain the sentiment behind birth flowers, giving your gift a level of depth and insight that isn't all too common these days!

Stay tuned to the Clare Florist blog for more information on birth flowers - we'll be covering every month of 2015 with information on that month's designated flower.
