Finzean Estate Farm Shop and Tearoom – the estate encompasses farmland, forestry and moorland. It has been home to the Farquharson family since the 17th century and it now includes a farm shop where you can have a cup of tea and a bite of homemade cake.

Also showcased in the farm shop and tea room are local produce, including home-reared beef, wild venison, game and rabbit as well as local vegetables, cheeses, pork, free-range eggs, honey and preserves. A number of activities can be done here as well including birdwatching, walking, cycling and fishing (salmon and trout).

Finzean Hall – located on the B976 that runs from Banchory to Aboyne. This was built in 1928 by the Farquharson family and now serves as a venue for different kinds of celebrations. The gardens here served as the backdrop of many of Joseph Farquharson’s paintings. Why shouldn’t it be? The Finzeal Hall gardens offer stunning views over the historic holy hedge until the front of Clachnaben.

You’ll find a spring woodland garden here with herbaceous and shrub borders as well as a working cut flower garden for the summer.

Ballogie is the other village that is surrounded by estates on the South Deeside Road. The village is home to the Potarch Bridge, which is considered the oldest in Deeside. Another attraction here is the Butterworth Gallery which showcases the work of local artists.
