Halton used to be a separate village but is currently part of the town of Runcorn in Cheshire.  This area is also included in the Borough of Halton.  Halton is higher than many of the other areas that surrounds it and it stands at an elevation of 240 feet.  

There are two churches in Halton.  One is the Trinity Methodist Church and the other is the Anglican Church of St. Mary.  The exterior of the church is made from red sandstone and a slate roof.  There is a four bay nave with north and south aisles, a south porch and a chancel.  There is an octagonal bell turret on the east gable of the nave.  In the north aisle, there is a stained glass window that was designed in 1893 by Henry Holiday.  This window depicts Christ and the children.  Another window was designed in 1912 by George Wragge and is of the Good Samaritan.  

Halton Castle is located on top of Halton Hill, which is a sandstone prominence that looks out over the village.  The castle structures deteriorated after the Civil War, but during the 18th century a courthouse was built where the gatehouse had been located.  Visitors are able to see the ruins of the original castle as they walk around the grounds and on occasion people are able to go inside to the interior.  

There is a Millennium Green in Halton and it is one of the 245 charity run public greens that were created at the beginning of the millennium.  During the warmer months, there are free Sunday concerts featuring different bands in Halton’s parks.  The community is able to go and listen to music, enjoy the outdoors and visit with friends and family.

Every year, the Creamfields Festival is held in Halton.  Creamsfields is one of the world’s best dance music festivals that feature electronic music.  All of the musicians are featured on a live outdoor stage as well as eight to ten other arenas.
