Neston is a town and civil parish in Cheshire.  The Neston area also includes Little Neston, Parkgate and Riverside wards.  Neston was a mining town until the River Dee silted up and coal shipments ended.  In town, the parish church is dedicated to St. Mary and St. Helen.  The church was built using sandstone and the roof is slate.  In 1854, an additional storey was added to the church.  Out in the churchyard, there is a sundial that dates back to the year 1717.

Just north of Neston is the Lady Lever Art Gallery.  The gallery was founded in 1922 and displays 18th and 19th century paintings as well as 18th century furniture.

The Ness Botanic Gardens were created back in 1898 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley.  In 1948, Mr. Bulley’s daughter presented the gardens to the University of Liverpool.  The mission of the gardens is the same today as it was many years ago, which is maintain a garden filled with diverse fauna and flora for everyone to enjoy.
