This is a fun filled day that includes music by the famous town band and a Hal An Tow pageant which is a lively event. Characters dressed as Robin Hood, Friar Tuck and the Sheriff of Nottingham do battle through the streets and stop along the way to meet and greet by standers.
Helston is also well known for its rousing town band founded in the 1940’s and still going strong today. The town has an active sporting community with cricket teams and a football club. There are lovely churches and other buildings of interest through-out the town that are absolutely worth visiting.
Of course being at the most southern point on Great Britain in and of itself makes this quaint historic town a great place to visit. The people are lovely and welcoming and it is a place rich in history.
