Flower Delivery to Hockley by Clare Florist
Located between Southend-on-Sea and Chelmsford is a large village and civil parish in Essex, England called Hockley. More specifically, it lies between Rochford and Rayleigh and boasts not only a rich deposit of culture but also notable buildings, scenic vistas and a fair amount of interesting activities to do.
Notable buildings in Hockley are the Church of St. Peter and Paul and the Hockley Tower that first emerged in the 12th and 14th centuries respectively. Discoveries as Robert Clays’ finding of a medicinal spring in 1838 also brought significant attention to the region. However it was only in the 1890s, during the railway construction, when Hockley first rose to prominence. Today, it has a census of more than 14,000 people, most of whom take the train to London.
Attached to the church are a 13th century chancel and a tower. The tower was first built in the 14th century but was later added on with an octagonal upper half. It currently holds 3 bells; one was manufactured in 1626 by Miles Gray, the second in 1684 by James Bartlett and the third in 1657 by John Hodgson.
Hockley is a village that is surrounded by vast arrays of plains, prairies and woods. As such, it is most known to tourists as a region for nature sight-seeing. Flowers in Hockley are abundant and that is just one reason to look forward to going for a hike around the area.
