Forest Hill is also home to two nature preserves, include Devonshire Road Nature Reserve and Dacres Wood Nature Reserve. These reserves are only occasionally open, in order to retain the integrity of these natural spaces.

Forest Hill plays host to a wide variety of famous people, including a number of actors, writers, sculptors, and painters, many of whom would have found inspiration in the beautiful outdoors areas and interesting architecture. This village has a great view of the London skyline and access to many of the amenities of London, without strictly being part of the city. It still retains the atmosphere of a traditional English village.
