Flower Delivery to Suckley with Clare Florist
The village of Suckley is a civil parish located in the county of Worcestershire, which is in the country of England. Suckley lies within the Malvern Hills District of the county and close to the border of another English county called Herefordshire. Suckley contains numerous hamlets including Longley Green, Suckley Green and Suckley Knowl. It is one of the largest civil parishes within Worcestershire and covers a total of four square miles. But despite the massive size of Suckley, it is one of the least populated civil parishes in Worcestershire with only about 250 homes. According to censuses taken in 2001 and 2011, the population of Suckley increased from about 549 people in 2001 to 599 people in 2011. This 50 person increase was made up entirely of senior citizens, who were likely retirees. The population of school aged children also decreased over this 10 year period as well.
Most of the land in Suckley is utilized by the village’s seven farms. These farms are responsible for producing beef, apples, hops, cereals, oil seeds, milk, potatoes, and pears. Many of the local residents work on these farms and trade produce to other towns and villages throughout England. Other residents in Suckley are known for operating micro-businesses out of their private homes. These businesses include furniture restoration, beauty therapy, plumbing, interior design, motor mechanics and computer maintenance. The rest of the villagers commute to other regions for work, such as West Midlands, Hereford and Worcester. There are many beautiful historical attractions in Suckley. The parish church, which is dedicated to the memory of John the Baptist, still stands. The Suckley Railway Station opened in 1897 and ran trains on the Worcester, Bromyard and Leominster Railway. The railway was open for more than half a century until it closed in 1964. It was replaced by bus transportation services that stayed available up until as recently as 2012. The bus services were cancelled because there were few people using them.
When you come to the village you will have a lot to see, including the old post office, village shop and two public houses; The Cross Keys and The Nelson Inn. If you were to bring your romantic partner along with you then she would surely enjoy it to.
