The village of Horsington is a civil parish located in the county of Somerset, which is in the country of England. It is only 1 mile from Templecombe and 4 miles away from Wincanton. The name “Horsington” is an Old English word that means “settlement of the horse keepers.” By this name alone, one can conclude that the village was founded by horse keepers. In 1907, Saint Margaret’s Hall was built on property donated to Horsington by Thomas Bailward. This hall later became known as the Village Hall. The main church of the village is St John’s Church. This church was originally built in the 15th century but then got rebuilt in the late 19th century.
