Flower Delivery to Rendlesham ― A Beautiful and Mysterious Village in Suffolk
Rendlesham is a village and civil parish located near the town of Woodbridge in Suffolk. You have probably heard of it and know that it's the site of the famous Rendlesham Forest incident, which has become known as “Britain's Roswell”. There's nothing wrong with this, but you have to know that Rendlesham isn't just about unexplained lights or purported UFO sightings. If you take a closer look, you'll see that it's a great place to live and an excellent holiday destination.
Rendlesham in the Past
There are two main theories as to how Rendlesham got its name. Its Old English name “Rendlæsham” may refer to a homestead that belonged to a person named Rendel. However, there are some people who theorise that the word “rendel” was Old English for “little shore”, which may refer to the fact that Rendlesham is located on the eastern coast of the country.
The village was an important part of the East Anglian Empire. Aside from being the royal centre of authority, it was the place where Swithhelm (a king of Essex in the 600s) was baptised and where he was believed to be buried.
Rendlesham was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. It was part of the Loose hundred and had a taxable value of 1.3 geld units, with around 46 households, a mill, and a five-acre meadow. The lord at the time was Gilbert of Coleville, and the tenant-in-chief was Robert Malet.
Many people visit Rendlesham to see the east gate of RAF Woodbridge, where the UFO sightings reportedly occurred in 1980. You can definitely check out the gate, but remember that there are many other attractions you can explore in the village.
For one thing, you can visit the Rendlesham Forest, where you can see common gorse, English bluebells, and other kinds of Rendlesham flowers in the spring. The forest has two cycle routes and two circular walking trails (one of which is a UFO trail that take you to some spots that are connected to the UFO incident). Your kids can have fun at the play area, which has swings, an obstacle course, and even a zipline, and your entire family can enjoy a delicious outdoor lunch at the picnic area.
If you're a history buff, you'll definitely want to check out the Bentwaters Cold War Museum. Located in Bentwaters Parks, the museum offers detailed displays about the Cold War, including aircraft that were used during the war (like the BAC Jaguar and the English Electric Lightning).
Of course, you shouldn't just stop at exploring Rendlesham's local attractions. If you're holidaying in the village with your parents and/or sweetheart, why not send flowers to Rendlesham? By doing this, you'll show your mum, wife, or girlfriend how much you love them and make your trip unforgettable. There's no need to fret since you can always get the help of professional florists; with their assistance, you can choose the right flowers in Rendlesham and get the best possible bouquet for your loved ones.
