This festival happens once a year, in May, and showcases performances in music, drama, dance, arts, and so much more. As far as the performances go, they are always a hit!

Performances range from all different genres such as classical, jazz, and traditional. There is always a little something for everyone there, so make plans to check it out!

The Eden Festival is another festival and will be going on from June 9th to June 12th 2016. This festival is rather different than Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival. This festival is much more modern and has more of an upbeat feel to it.

Eden Festival is a vibrant and independent boutique festival that features music and amazing performances. There are nine different stages at this festival that include a kids arena, circus tent, drive in cinema, comedy, cabaret and workshops. There is also a wide range of performers and games; as you can see this one is much more family oriented in that there is something for everyone in the family!
What does a boutique festival mean? It means that it has a lot of stages rather than one big one where everyone is crowded. This festival has more of the larger names that people will travel to see. There is a wide range of genres being covered at this festival: Traditional, Reggage, Swing, Hip Hop, Folk and so much more! The talent at the festival is from all over the UK.

However, they try to have a wide variety of artists at the festival; Eden Festival has 15 local artists and 5 national artists every year. These artists build, plant, carve, or sculpt different exhibitions right on site; it is pretty neat for anyone!
