The Kirk was once central to the original ancient village of Dalgety, but now are all that remains. Stone masonry structures make for a wonderful family adventure of discovery, with the ruins poking out along the old foundations that take some skill to locate.

Ancient History in Dalgety Bay, Fife

Of particular note for Dalgety Bay, Fife is the excavated evidence of some of Scotland’s earliest settlers, made real with the stones of a bronze-age cist discovers at the Regents Way shopping area. Excavations of the cist uncovered a pristine example of bronze-age metallurgy in the form of a dagger, which is now on display at the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Visitors with a historical and architectural bent can also visit the Donibristle House chapel and gardens, and the Donibristle house servant’s quarters as well.
