In the Victorian period, the population of Caldicot was about 450 people.
Till the middle of the 20th century, Caldicot flourished steadily and reached a population of about 1,770 people in 1951. In 1955, the Chepstow Rural District Government Council decided to take the population of this village up to 3,000. Hence, in 1962 the population was measured approximately 7,000. In 1970, Caldicot earned the title of a town with its steady growth and continuous improvement. From then onwards, Caldicot became a town crowded with tourists and inhabitants.
