The show originally was an agricultural exhibition for the local community, and while that aspect has continued, the festival has grown to include entertainment, children’s activities, a horse and car show, and more. In addition, Epworth hosts a Festival of the Plough agricultural fair annually in the Isle of Axholme area, which is one of the few places left in England where strip farming is prevalent.
