Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is a village in Neath Port Talbot and a parish made up of electoral wards.  Many of the younger people in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen speak the Welsh language.

Unfortunately the Old Public Hall burnt down on April 1, 1928 and the new Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen Hall and Library that was built in 1931 has been demolished.  

Brecon Beacons National Park is located near Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen.  People will enjoy walking the trails and at night they will be able to gaze at the stars.  A few of the nature reserves in the area include Craig-y-Cilau, Craig-Cerrig-Gleisiad and the Brecknock Wildlife Trust’s Pwll-yr-Wrach.
