The small village of Bromfield is a civil parish located in Shropshire County, which is in the country of England. Bromfield is located on the A49 road about two miles from Ludlow, which is a market town. On the eastern end of Bromfield, you will find the A4113 road leading into Knighton. The village even has two bodies of water, River Onny and River Teme, which eventually join together. These rivers split Bromfield into two halves. The village church and many older buildings are in the western side while the newer redeveloped buildings for businesses are in the eastern side. Residents can take a bridge to cross over the river into the east or west sides of the village. According to a census that was recorded in 2001, the population of Bromfield was 306 people. According to the survey in the book, the boundaries of the village extended a lot farther than they do today. In 1086, it lied within the Saxon hundred of Culvestan. But during the reign of Henry I, the village fell within the Munslow hundred. The Bromfield Priory was eventually destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, which was a legal process enforced by Henry VII between the years 1536 and 1541. Bromfield still has its own church though. It is dedicated to the St. Mary the Virgin and is listed as a Grade I building.
