Neenton is a small parish in Shropshire, England.  This very small village has had an average population of 100 people. This quaint town has a long history of not having very many residents.  It is located in the southeast area of Shropshire. It has some historic buildings and an interesting history.

The river Neen flows past the village.  There is a public meeting house that was known as the New Inn and is now known as the Pheasant Inn.  The population decline has been steady since the 1800’s and has rounded off at around 100 people at any given time.

This is mainly an agricultural area that does not offer many opportunities for other employment. There is no other real industry in this particular village but there are still people that call it home and that enjoy living in this quiet hamlet.  There is as of the most recent census 52 homes in the area that are mostly made up of a couple with a dependent child.

Children go to school in Bridgnorth which is relatively nearby. It is a nice place to live and an interesting place to visit. There is a church in Neenton that is an interesting site. It was built in the 1800’s but was built to look like it was built in a 13th century design complete with a couple of turrets and ancient stones to give it the full effect of being a much older building than it actually is.  This church is home to a lovely stained glass window that was fashioned by the famous William Morris & Co to memorialize 3 men that were local and lost in WWI. One of the men’s families are responsible for some of the woodwork in the church including the pulpit. It is interesting to see so a memorable sight in such a small village.
