Located 14 miles south west of Bath, the civil parish and beautiful village of Ston Easton is the pride of Somerset.

Ston Easton may be a small village but its visitors are always amazed by its fascinating history which indicates that the village existed before the Norman Conquest. In 1066, Ston Easton was handed to the Bishop of Coutances as a lifelong gift, while during Henry III’s reign, the De Clifton family held the manor and they remained the lords until Edward III ascended to the throne.

In the 1300s, the manor was split into 2: one half was occupied by Bruton Abbey and the other by Simon de Trewhouse.

Ston Easton Park was built on the 1760s and is famous for its beautiful Palladian architecture. Today, it is a stately hotel with several magnificent reception rooms. Visitors love exploring their splendid gardens, especially in the springtime when there are plenty of flowers in bloom.

The Ston Easton community is small and tight-knit. In 2009, after much support from local stakeholders, they managed to refurbish their local village hall. Many local events are regularly held throughout the year at the Ston Easton Village Hall, such as a gardening club and weekly tea mornings.

The village also has a parish church, a pre-school and a nursing home. Due to its size, Ston Easton does not have any shops, pubs or a bus service.
