Tongham is a Surrey village that is located near the town of Aldershot. According to archaeological evidence, the village has been around since approximately 10,200 BC. Two Neolithic arrowheads and Iron Age farmsteads have been found within the village.  Many of the buildings are from earlier centuries and they have been kept in great condition.

The Hogs Back Brewery is named after the Hog’s Back ridge and was started in 1992. The brewery is housed in an 18th century building.  There are also two pubs that are from before the 19th century in Tongham, called The White Hart and The Cricketers. 

There is a 17th century cottage that is located below the location of the former manor that used to be on Poyle Farm. The church in Tongham was built back in 1865 and was used by the Anglicans. 

Tongham is where the Aldershot Stadium was located from 1950 until 1992. The stadium was where they hosted greyhound racing and stock car racing. It was torn down so that a road could be built.  Tongham also has a non league football team called Tongham F.C. 

The village has a community center where people can meet to socialize or to play many different sports in the fields. There is even a play park for the children. 

The village was quickly mentioned in the novel, “Brave New World”. 

Every year, the village of Tongham holds the Samfest Music Festival. During the festival, local bands perform and families are invited to spend the day and listen to music and eat food. There is lots of entertainment for everyone.
