Flower Delivery to Parwich, Derbyshire with Clare Florist

The village of Parwich is located in a county within the East Midlands of England called Derbyshire. Parwich lies within the Derbyshire Dales local government district. This area is just 7 miles north of the market town known as Ashbourne. It is estimated that the population of Parwich is just over 500 people. This makes it a relatively small community that doesn’t get too many tourists.

The earliest record of Parwich can be historically traced all the way back to the year 1086. The village was referred to as “Pevrewic” in the Domesday Book of 1086. This book was basically a survey book that was ordered to be completed by King William the Conqueror. It surveyed many different lands throughout England and Wales. Over the years, power over the village was transferred to different people and kings. The Earl of Derby, Robert de Ferrers, was first granted ownership over the land. But after the Montford Rebellion, King Edward I seized the land from him. Then Edward I gave the land to the Earl of Lancaster, Edmund Crouchback. Eventually, the village land was sold to a man named Thomas Levinge in 1603. The land stayed within the Levinge family for the next 200 years after that. Over this period of time, they built the Parwich Hall in the year 1747 and the village church in the year 1874. The church still stands to this day.

The most popular facilities of the village include the Anglican Church, The Sycamore Inn, the Village Memorial Hall, the Royal British Legion Club House and the village school. If you do end up coming to Parwich as a tourist then you will definitely want to stay at the Sycamore Inn. It is both a village shop and public house combined into one. The building itself is rather old and was built out of stones. This makes it a great tourist attraction in itself along with the historical churches and structures of the village. If you were to go to Parwich with your loved one then you would definitely feel like you were travelling back in time.
