Selmeston is a village located in the Wealden District of East Sussex, in the southeast of England. It is located between the towns of Lewes and Eastbourne and between the Cuckmere and Ouse Rivers.
Selmeston is one of the few British villages that have a named priest associated with its parish that is named in the Domesday Book of 1086. The church was at that time owned by William de Cahanges, who was the lord of Sherrington Manor. The ancient beginnings of the village are seen in the extensive archaeological findings uncovered including micro lithic points used for hunting.
