Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal 2013

Good afternoon all, and hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Today we'd like to draw your attention to a great cause -- which just so happens to feature a beautiful flower as the face of its appeal.

We speak, of course, of the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal 2013.

You can read all about it on Marie Curie's website here. The Appeal is an annual event, featuring the daffodil (which you may remember is also the national flower of Wales!) as its emblem. Marie Curie collect donations for daffodil pins all through the month of March, collecting money for terminally ill patients, including cancer patients. Last year alone, Marie Curie raised helped 31,000  people in need.

Marie Curies employ 2,000 nurses, and are the biggest provider of hospice beds in the UK outside the NHS. We at Clare Florist certainly support the 2013 Great Daffodil Appeal. A wonderful flower, representing a genuinely worthy cause.
